Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2025

MasterConf is a SaaS platform for organizing and managing conferences, masterclasses, and professional events. We are committed to protecting privacy and handling data responsibly.

MasterConf is available in two versions: a hosted SaaS version (multi-tenant, managed by MasterConf) and a self-hosted version (deployed and operated entirely by the customer). This Privacy Policy covers both.

SaaS (Hosted) Version

Privacy by Design

MasterConf is built with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, sell, share, or exploit personal data for our own commercial purposes. The platform is designed to process only the data strictly necessary for the services requested by our customers.

Multi-Tenant Architecture

The SaaS version of MasterConf operates on a multi-tenant infrastructure. Each customer's data is logically separated. Customers (event organizers and managers) configure their own events, registration forms, and data collection through the platform.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • MasterConf acts as a data processor. We provide the technical infrastructure and services. We process data on behalf of our customers and according to their instructions.
  • Customers (event organizers) act as data controllers. They are fully responsible for the personal data they collect and process through the platform. This includes determining what data to collect, obtaining appropriate consent from attendees, and ensuring compliance with applicable data protection regulations (including GDPR where applicable).

What MasterConf Does Not Do

  • We do not use customer or attendee data for advertising, profiling, or analytics beyond what is needed to operate the service.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
  • We do not access customer data except when necessary for technical support, maintenance, or when required by law.

Enforcement

MasterConf reserves the right to suspend or terminate any customer subscription if we become aware of practices that violate privacy rights, data protection laws, or the terms of service. We take data protection seriously and expect our customers to do the same.

Self-Hosted VersionOperated by the Customer

Self-Hosted Version

When MasterConf is deployed as a self-hosted solution, the software runs entirely on infrastructure owned and managed by the customer.

Complete Customer Control

  • MasterConf has no access to customer data. In the self-hosted configuration, no data is transmitted to or accessible by MasterConf.
  • The customer is solely responsible for the security of their infrastructure, the protection of personal data, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • The customer is responsible for backups, updates, access control, and all operational aspects of the deployment.

MasterConf may provide technical support or consulting for self-hosted deployments upon request, but this does not transfer any data responsibility to MasterConf.
